{"id":33800,"date":"2025-09-17T08:56:45","date_gmt":"2025-09-17T06:56:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/isblue.fr\/campagne-mayobs33\/"},"modified":"2026-06-15T16:59:08","modified_gmt":"2026-06-15T14:59:08","slug":"mayobs33-campaign","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/isblue.fr\/en\/mayobs33-campaign\/","title":{"rendered":"MAYOBS33 Campaign"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<ul>\n<li><strong>From September 25th to October 14<sup>th<\/sup> 2025<\/strong>\u00a0on the oceanographic ship <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.flotteoceanographique.fr\/en\/Facilities\/Vessels-Deep-water-submersible-vehicles-and-Mobile-equipments\/Deep-sea-vessels\/Marion-Dufresne\">Marion Dufresne<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Heads of mission: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ipgp.fr\/en\/directory\/komorow\/\"><strong>Jean-Christophe KOMOROVSKI<\/strong><\/a> (IPG paris) ans <a href=\"https:\/\/www.researchgate.net\/profile\/Isabelle-Thinon\"><strong>Isabelle THINON<\/strong><\/a> (BRGM Orl\u00e9ans)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Floating University<\/strong> involving 3 French universities: <strong>Brest (UBO), Perpignan (UPVD), Montpellier (UM)<\/strong>\u00a0and coordinated with participants of <strong>La R\u00e9union and Mayotte<\/strong> universities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n  <p class=\"wrap_zip_block-btn\">\n     <a class=\"zip_block-btn btn1\" href=\"https:\/\/isblue.fr\/en\/le-blog-de-la-campagne-mayobs-33\/\" target=\"\">To consult the Mission\u2019s blog, click here!<\/a>\n  <\/p>\n  \n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-00e5513fe397c5556f428f8cd378d14d\" style=\"color:#002332\">The Floating University<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The Floating University (UF)<\/strong>, funded in 2025 by The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.flotteoceanographique.fr\/en\"><strong>French Oceanographic Fleet<\/strong><\/a>, the <a href=\"https:\/\/isblue.fr\/en\/\"><strong>University School of Research ISblue<\/strong><\/a> and the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.universites-marines.fr\/en\">French Network of Marine Universities<\/a><\/strong>, offer the opportunity for students from french Universities to participate to a scientific mission on the iconic ship of the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.flotteoceanographique.fr\/en\">French Oceanographic Fleet<\/a><\/strong>, the ship <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.flotteoceanographique.fr\/en\/Facilities\/Vessels-Deep-water-submersible-vehicles-and-Mobile-equipments\/Deep-sea-vessels\/Marion-Dufresne\">Marion Dufresne<\/a><\/strong>. In this context, students from Floating University can join a multidisciplinary scientific team to take part in activities, and to discover for everyone the organisation of an oceanographic mission, by sharing the proceeding of the operations during all the campaign.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-c05165e00c093a177d13fd0b16af9f12\" style=\"color:#002332\">Who are we?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Floating University is composed by 10 students: <strong>Rapha\u00eblle<\/strong>, <strong>L\u00e9a<\/strong> and <strong>Judith<\/strong>, students in Master 2 Ocean Geosciences in Brest; <strong>Melvil<\/strong> and <strong>Taran<\/strong>, students in Master 2 Marine Physic in Brest; <strong>Lucie<\/strong> and <strong>La\u00ebtitia<\/strong>, students in M2 Marine Chemistry in Brest, <strong>Jules<\/strong> and <strong>Jade<\/strong>, students in M2 Sea Sciences in Perpignan, and <strong>Marie-Eve<\/strong>, PhD student in Anthropology of Sciences at the IRD of Montpellier. We have been selected to embark on the Marion Dufresne during the campaign <strong>MAYOBS-33<\/strong>, dedicated to the <strong>sismo-volcanic activity offshore Mayotte island<\/strong>. The pedagogic supervisor, <strong>Jacques D\u00e9verch\u00e8re<\/strong>, Professor at Brest University (UBO), insure the coordination of student\u2019s activities onboard, in harmony with the scientific team and the crew.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We have been selected to embark on the Marion Dufresne during the campaign MAYOBS-33, dedicated to the sismo-volcanic activity offshore Mayotte island. The pedagogic supervisor, Jacques D\u00e9verch\u00e8re, Professor at Brest University (UBO), insure the coordination of student\u2019s activities onboard, in harmony with the scientific team and the crew.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-c4eb9a138d1ef29d61a576be179686ae\" style=\"color:#002332\"><br>MAYOBS-33 campaign\u2018 summary<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<p><strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/strong>The oceanographic campaign <strong>MAYOBS33<\/strong> is located in the Mozambique channel, onbord the Marion Dufresne. <strong>MAYOBS&#8217;<\/strong> campaigns are carried out in the goal to follow the evolution of <a href=\"https:\/\/news.cnrs.fr\/articles\/fani-maore-the-submarine-volcano-that-shook-mayotte\"><strong>the sismic and volcanic activity who affect the island from May 2018<\/strong><\/a>. They are realised as part of the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ipgp.fr\/en\/observation\/national-hosted-infrastructures\/revosima\/\">REVOSIMA<\/a><\/strong> program (Volcanological and Seismological Surveillance\u2019s Network of Mayotte).
