The main aim of the DocuSciences project was to give doctoral students from the \u00c9cole Doctorale Sciences de la Mer et du Littoral (EDSML) the opportunity to produce a video to explain their thesis topic and raise awareness about a research issue. The doctoral students were accompanied by two professional documentary makers, the artist Pauline Hegaret<\/a> and the director Tanguy Alanou<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The doctoral students were able to devise a script based on their research issues, while selecting the interviewees and filming locations. They then learnt how to use video editing software to produce a highly professional end result. This theoretical and technical knowledge is undeniably an additional asset for these future professionals when it comes to communicating their research topics to a wide audience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In just one week, they devised the script, selected the people to be interviewed, prepared the interviews, drew up the sequence, then carried out the filming and \u2018de-rushing\u2019 right through to the final edit!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
