Dr Roberto Rivas Hermann (Nord University Business School/ Department of Market, Organization, and Management/ and affiliated researcher to the Centre for High North Logistics) will visit AMURE research unit for three months, hosted by the chair of polar issues (Dr Anne Choquet-Sauvin). Dr. Hermann’s visit is possible due to the support of ISblue, the scholarship for visiting professors and researchers, and the support of Nord University Business School.
The visit is the culmination of two previous visits to AMURE and collaboration across the chair of polar issues and port transitions in 2023, which the SEA-EU University Alliance gladly funded.
Dr. Hermann will have a packed calendar during the first half of his research stay in 2024. Two seminars are planned at UBO and ENSTA-Bretagne as part of the ISblue collaboration across higher education institutions.
The first seminar hosted during the first of October at UBO will focus on how the Arctic port system can be feasible. Perspectives from the coastal and hinterland transportation system in Northern Norway.
The second seminar will take place at the ENSTA-Bretagne the second week of October with professional master students; the seminar is entitled: Emerging Logistical Concepts and Technologies: implications for Port Management and supply chains.
On 17th October, in the framework of the Seatech week taking place in Brest, Dr. Hermann and Dr. Choquet-Sauvin will host the workshop “Maritime Safety and Security in Polar Waters.”
Aside from lecturing in the diverse seminars and panels, Dr. Hermann will be working on the forthcoming edited book project “Arctic Shipping and Logistics,” for which a co-author seminar will be hosted in Brest on October 15th.
