ISblue in Transition Convention #3 – An Inspiring Day

The third edition of the ISblue in Transition Convention (CIT) took place on 15 January 2026 at ENSTA. Around thirty participants, including teaching teams and staff members from partner institutions, attended:

  • An inspiring keynote on Robustness, a key concept for moderating the pursuit of performance within the limits of our world;
  • A workshop exploring the intersections between art, science and the ocean through the lens of robustness;
  • Continued peer-to-peer exchanges between lecturers and academic researchers who have developed initiatives integrating Socio-Ecological Transformation (SET) teaching into student and engineering curricula;
  • Practical workshops designed to develop new methods for creating and adapting courses that incorporate SET issues.

Feedback from participants highlighted that work on these topics requires both a broader perspective adapted to the higher education and research sector, and practical tools to engage directly in course design and development. Bridging this necessary gap calls for the ability to bring together diverse academic backgrounds and viewpoints in order to co-construct the evolution of educational pathways.
