ISblue in Transition Convention #2 – A Reflective Day

For the second edition of the ISblue in Transition Convention, the learning community of lecturers and academic researchers gathered at Université Bretagne Sud on 28 November 2025.

The aim of the morning session was to experiment with two new workshops designed to address Socio-Ecological Transformations (SET) with students:

  • The Ocean Walk, an adaptation of the Deep Time Walk and the Ocean Climate Fresk, in which each step allows participants to explore marine flora and fauna from the depths of the ocean to its surface;
  • The Convergence Workshop, inspired by the 2Tonnes workshop, exploring the role of robustness within organisations. What balance can be found between sustainability, responsibility and profitability?

In the afternoon, participants stepped back to reflect on the Sustainable Development and Social Responsibility strategic plans (S3DRS) presented by ISblue partner institutions. The objective was to build upon these official roadmaps in order to lay the foundations for the transformations in educational pathways, teaching approaches and stakeholder involvement needed to address socio-ecological challenges.

The presentations are available on the Blue Learning Spot platform in the course “Convention d’ISblue en Transition” and within the folder “Journée du 28 novembre”.

The day concluded with a feedback session on a programme inspired by the Convention des Entreprises pour le Climat, carried out by Université Bretagne Sud, as well as discussions on the transformations implemented by lecturers and academic researchers in their teaching practices and SET-related courses since last year. An ambitious and highly inspiring programme.
