Trajectories PIM: Investigating Future Careers and Reshaping Training Programmes

In January 2024, as part of the Trajectories joint interdisciplinary project (PIM), a group of Masters students from UBO, UBS and ENSTA Bretagne investigated their future careers and looked for solutions to improve their training.

Following an introduction to the interview techniques, the students worked in pairs to carry out surveys with professionals in order to draw up job descriptions. They also spent a morning at 70.8 (Atelier des Capucins – Brest) meeting marine science and technology professionals and discussing careers and changes in a world in transition.

They were then asked to reflect on the content of their training programmes. At the end of the PIM, the students came up with recommendations that could inspire future discussions on the development of marine science and technology courses within ISblue and the place of students within the educational establishments’ governing boards.
